I started painting watercolors in the fall after a spiritual retreat. We were all encouraged to reflect on the scripture we were given earlier in the day. I painted a sunset from memory to remind me of how sunsets remind us of the Kingdom of God. Sunsets are always beautiful, but always different. They can be surprising, sneaking up on you when you didn't expect to see a sunset. Sometimes the beginning of the sunset is ho-hum, then the afterglow is amazing and the whole sky is lit up. Unpredictable. Beautiful. Awe-inspiring.
